Jason Nik interview with/entrevista con Lizzie Blazquez

Lizzie Blazquez isn’t defined by any genre of music, instead she is undefined.

I spoke with Lizzie about her upbringing, unique singing style, and journey as a singer.

Jason Nik: Tell us a bit about growing up in Venezuela and how that made who you are today.

Lizzie Blazquez: I grew up a little different, maybe because I studied in a private school, different from all schools in Venezuela  was  founded by Americans and almost everyone were American citizens,I learned to speak Spanish and English simultaneously..and so it was that I was raised perhaps a little more Americanized.

JN: Your music style is not really confined to one genre. So if you were explaining what your music is like to someone who has never heard your songs, how would you describe it?

LB: My music is like a buffet where you can sample and choose your favorite dish. lol
Really is pop dance music, and depending on the track each one has a different mix on it..maybe one song is more pop dance with some dubstep and then another song is totally different like a new trap song I recently recorded.

JN: Who were your musical inspirations as a child?

LB: I don't know. I learned how to play chords in the guitar when I was 7 years old.

JN: From “Deep Inside Me” and “Tanta de Nada” to the much anticipated upcoming songs “Ouh Baby” and “Mine” you write all your own lyrics to your songs. What inspires your writing?

LB: My life experiences the good and the bad, Love, etc.

JN: Is there anyone in the music industry you would like to work with?

LB: Yes so many..Pitbull..ummm..Calvin Harris,  David Guetta..soo many!! :)

LB: Si!! Pitbull..ummm..Calvin Harris, David Guetta..y tantos otros! :)

JN: What advice can you give people pursuing a career in music?

LB: Ha! I am still learning lol its a non ending subject.. is like any other business you have to work and work and work.. also very important to learn about the business side of music there is a book they call it "the Bible of the music business" by Donald Passman the 7th edition.
